The river had been very quiet since May 6. It has been falling steadily & fining off since and is
now coming into cracking order with the Ballyduff gauge on 0.63m this evening and clarity 3-4 feet.
On the 13th., one of our guides had two fish on the fly in one evening's fishing on club waters up river.
Yesterday, the only rod out on our waters had a sea-liced 8½ pounder on the upper river,
and one of our syndicate rods reported catching a 13½ pounder on a private beat on the upper river as well.
Joint Best Day of the Season so far - Today May 15th.!
One of our guests who had just completed 2 hours tuition with Glenda fished on afterwards for half an hour
and promptly caught a sea-liced 10 pounder on a #11 Cascade tied by his son!
Then the syndicate rod who caught yesterday's 13½ pounder reported two 9lb. fish released
on one of our upper beats - both on spinner.
Please see our May Photo Gallery for the latest pictures.
This was the river at 15.00 today. Ballyduff gauge 0.64m & falling & clarity 3-4 feet.
With the river fining off well, prospects of sport are looking superb as there is now
obviously a good head of springers in the system & the river is coming into superb condition.
Three springers in 2½ rod hours says it all ............................................................................
