Blackwater Lodge Newsletter - March 12, 2013
The water was low in
the first week of March, but then for the last 5 days (from the 7-11th.)
we had heavy rain followed by blizzards! Today, the river has fallen back considerably & is clearing
and is just coming back into fishable order. With a dry cold forecast for the coming days,
the river should be in good order and we will once again be able to fish with confidence.
This is the river below the Lodge at lunchtime today with the gauge on 0.85m &
clarity 1½-2 feet.
Galway Bay Salmon Farm Protest.
Following the very successful protest March in Galway on March 2nd, the pressure continues to mount.
Tomorrow, March 13, there will be a live debate on the Pat Kenny Show on Ireland's RTE Radio 1 at 10.00am.
Please be sure to text your concerns about these toxic salmon farms to Pat Kenny on 51551 before tomorrow morning.
And as if you need to think about, just watch Salmon Confidential http://salmonconfidential.ca/
to see just what has happened in British Columbia.
